Traffic plan for Muslim Town bridge construction devised - Lahore_Real_Estate - 10-01-2011 02:42 PM

LAHORE - The City Traffic Police (CTP) devised a comprehensive plan on Friday for the construction of the over-head bridge at Muslim Town. According to the CTP spokesman, during the construction of the over-head-bridge, 4 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP), 18 inspectors and 332 wardens would be deployed to assist in traffic related issues to avoid any unpleasant traffic incident at adjacent roads. He said that according to the plan the traffic from the Mall to Ichhra would have to take a left turn from Jail Road in order to reach their destination.
The commuters who have to go to Ichhra would have to take a left turn from Campus Bridge to reach their destination. The vehicles coming from Thokar and towards Kalma Chowk would have to take a right turn from Campus Bridge. On Ferozpur Road, a two-way traffic would continue to flow leading the commuters to Qurtaba Chowk, Kahna, Kalma Chowk and Kasur. The traffic from Qurtaba Chowk to New Campus, Thokar Niaz Baig and Allama Iqbal Town would have to take left turns from Qurtaba Chowk and Shadman Chowk to reach their destinations after reaching Jail Road, Shah Jamal, and FC Bridge. He said that heavy vehicles from New Campus Bridge to Jail Road on the Canal Road were not allowed. The buses which use the 22 number routes for traveling from Thokar to Jallo Morr and from Jallo Morr to Thokar would have to take a right turn from New Campus Brige and after taking different routes, they would take the main Canal Road at Jail Road Bridge.
