DHA installs 190 surveillance cameras - Salman - 12-20-2011 12:32 PM
KARACHI: The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has installed 190 surveillance cameras at all entry/exit points and important locations in DHA.
An official said that the Cameras are connected through fibre optic cable to the Main Control Room at DHA Main Office for active surveillance/monitoring of the area.
He said that the Control Room works round the clock and all suspicious and nefarious activities are closely monitored to boost security in the area.
It was pointed out that on Monday in the wee hours three anti social persons were detected looting the passengers at Khayaban-e-Ittehad Korangi Road junction.
The Vigilance Mobile of DHA came into action and rushed to the scene where after a brief encounter three dacoits were apprehended.
The dacoits were later handed over to Defence Police.
Administrator DHA Brig Aamer Raza Qureshi commended the Vigilance Staff for their timely and courageous action.
He asked DHA Vigilance staff to remain ever vigilant and work with utmost dedication and devotion to enhance security environment in the area.
