Karachi (PPI): Federal Communications Minister Dr. Arbab Alamgir Khan issued strict instructions for early completion of all National Highway Authority NHA mega projects worth billions of rupees according to world standard in Sindh province. After inspecting ongoing and completed mega projects in the province and presiding high level meeting at NHA office in Karachi, he warned no negligence or incompetence will be tolerated. He said present democratic government wants to fulfill all its promises before completing its term. He was told Rs 3 billion Sakrand- Nawabshah road was complete, Qazi Ahmad Aamri bridge connecting National Highway with Indus Highway costing Rs 2.9 billion complete by December 2012, Rs 6.707 billion Sukkur, Shikarpur, Jacobabad road funded by Asian Development Bank complete in December 2013 and 200-km Sehwan, Larkana, Rattodero additional carriageway being constructed by Frontier Works Organization FWO complete by December 2014 at cost of Rs. 16 billion. Larkana Package has seven mega projects of which Larkana, Khairpur bridge and approach road will cost Rs 11.418 billion, Lakki, Naudero, Larkana road costing Rs 3.335 billion to be completed this month. Ratodero, Naudero road completed at cost of Rs 0.794 billion, Larkana, Qambar Road costing Rs 0.829 billion complete in October, 2012, Qambar, Shahdad Kot road costing Rs 1.043 billion complete by December, 2012, Larkana, Naseerabad road via Rasheed Wagan complete in October, 2012 at cost of Rs 1.559 billion. Construction of Lyari Expressway in Karachi is underway.
