Several departments of CDA to be shifted to IMC
ISLAMABAD: The charge of several departments of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) will be shifted to the proposed Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation (IMC).
Under the proposed Islamabad Capital Territory Local Government Bill 2013, with the establishment of the new corporation, many departments along with thousands of employees working in the CDA would be shifted to the metropolitan corporation.
According to the bill, the corporation would be responsible to implement the by-laws in Islamabad along with the responsibility of providing potable water, drainage plants and municipal services.
The corporation will be responsible for development projects and will be tasked to take measures for bringing improvement in the municipal structure of the capital
