CDA chairman inspects work on major avenues in capital

ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal visited the major avenues and roads of the capital city and inspected the ongoing construction, repair and patchwork of avenues and roads initiated by the Engineering Wing of the CDA.
Engineering and Environment Member Sanaullah Aman briefed the CDA chairman on the ongoing repair and maintenance work at different avenues and roads. On this occasion, all board members and senior officers of concerned wings of CDA were also present.
During his visits to different avenues, the CDA chairman inspected the ongoing lane-marking work, construction / repair and carpeting, on the Jinnah Avenue opposite the Fatima Jinnah Park (F9). He also paid visit to different areas of the city to examine the sites of ongoing development work.
Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal directed the engineering and environment member for an early completion of construction, repair and maintenance work on major roads and avenues of the city.
He also directed for filling of ditches and necessary patchwork on broken roads and avenues. He directed the concerned formations of the authority to decorate the green belts with grass, flowering plants and trees, which would be an addition to the beautification of the federal capital in the spring season.
The CDA chairman further directed the Engineering Wing for completion of lane marking on the avenues and roads at the earliest for smooth flow of traffic. While visiting the Zero Point area, the CDA chairman took notice of the substandard repair work on a loop and directed the Engineering Wing to repair the road again, not compromising the quality. He added that a daily progress report should be submitted to him regarding all ongoing development and maintenance work.
He further directed officers of Engineering Wing to pay regular visits and supervise the construction and repair / maintenance work on the roads and avenues so that the work could be completed within the stipulated time to facilitate the commuters.
