Islamabad: Judgement reserved in CDA's I-11/12 land award dispute case - Naveed Yaseen - 06-06-2009 08:05 AM

Justice Munir Ahmed Paracha of Islamabad High Court (IHC) Friday reserved his judgment in a case relating to land award dispute between Capital Development Authority and residents of I-11 and I-12.

Residents of Moza Bokra alleged that the CDA has announced the land award of their inherited lands with inclusion of some influential persons who had no concern whatsoever with the said land.

They said names of some property dealers and some other influential people were included in the list out of the way, which was a grave violation of the Land Acquisition Act.

In another case Advocate Kokab Iqbal filed an application before the IHC for re-instatement of his writ petition against the government’s decision regarding advancement of clocks by one hour.

Earlier, his petition was dismissed by the court for non-prosecution.

Justice Muhammad Ramzan Chaudhry of Islamabad High Court (IHC) adjourned till June 15 in a case regarding creation of Department of Inland Revenue Service within Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

Dr. Muhammad Zubair Yousfani, Additional Collector of Customs, Rawalpindi, along with several other officers of the Customs and Excise Group had filed the petition with the IHC.

A member Legal Committee of FBR Muhammad Mumtaz told the court that both the parties were trying to settle the dispute outside the court and they need some time to resolve the issue.
