Vehicles’ registration increases by 8%
KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Excise and Taxation, Mukesh Kumar Chawla has said the department registered 203,697 vehicles of all types during 2007-08 against 187,854 vehicles during the last year marking an eight percent increase. He said maximum increase of 43 per cent was recorded in the registration of commercial vehicles at 11,569 against 8087 in 2006-2007. He said the registration of motorcycles went up by 18 per cent at 221,213 against 132,145 last year. The increase was due to advent of Chinese bike makers in the market in a big way, he said. app
