THE Chief Justice Lahore High Court on Friday directed the President Aitcheson Housing Society (AHS) and Registrar Co-Operative Society to produce the record of plots’ distribution in AHS.

The Chief Justice further directed them to come up with a proper mode of payback or plot provision to the allottees whose plots had been occupied illegally. Chief Justice Khawaja Muhammad Sharif adjourned further hearing till September 14.

The Chief Justice had taken a suo motu of the alleged non-allotment of plots by AHS to three women who made full payment in 1981. According to a complaint sent to the CJ by post, Humaira Amjad, Feroza Sarwar and Zammurad Salman bought three different plots F-17, F-15 and A-62 of one kanal each in Aitcheson Housing Society in 1981. It was alleged that plots F-15 and F-17 were in illegal possession of ex-president of the society while one Maqsood Butt was occupying plot A-62.

Later, the CJ had appointed a local commission to look into the matter which informed the court that their plots did not exist in the society.

The recovery orders were issued by the district and sessions judge on a habeas corpus petition, filed by Mairaj Bibi, a resident of Kasur, alleging that Muhammad Ramzan, father-in-law of her daughters, Safia and Rukhsana, was not allowing them to meet her. She prayed to the court to depute a bailiff for the recovery of her daughters. Later, a bailiff went to Ramzan’s house and recovered the girls and produced them before the court. The girls stated in the court that they wanted to go with their mother.
