CDA starts paying compensation to affectees
ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started paying compensation to the affectees of Mouza Noon. In this connection Land and Estate Wing of the authority have initially disbursed Rs 100 million as compensation amount to the remaining affectees of Sector H16 and I17. These payments are being made on the directions of Islamabad High Court (IHC). The affectees, who owned a land up to two (02) kanals, are being compensated. The award of Mouza Noon and Badhana was announced in year 2007. CDA Chairman, Maroof Afzal has directed the Land and Estate Wing to ensure the payments to the affectees who owned the land up to two (02) kanals in the wake of directives of IHC. Acting upon the directions of CDA chairman, Land and Estate Wing has made payments to fifty-eight (58) affectees and took possession of one hundred and sixteen (116) kanals of land in Mouza Noon. In the meantime, on the directions of CDA chairman in order to ensure the transparency in payment procedure, compensations are being made in the camp office established at the site instead of CDA offices and the concerned staff has been directed to ensure their presence in the camp office. CDA Chairman, Maroof Afzal has directed to pay special attention not only to resolve the compensation issue but all the genuine problems of the affectees. He said that CDA would work for the development of Islamabad with the cooperation and mutual consultation of the stakeholders including affectees.
