Islamabad: CDA to provide basic facilities in Farash Town
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to provide basic facilities to Alipur Farash Town in order to turn it into a model village, a CDA official said here Monday.
The official said CDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood has directed to provide the basic facilities to the town including schools, dispensaries, playgrounds, public parks, water tanks and tubewells. He said the Authority would build three schools including two primary schools and one secondary in the town and the work in this regard would be started soon.The Authority would also provide two dispensaries equipped with all the basic facilities, as the residents had no medical facility in their town or surroundings. A playground and two public parks would also be developed which would be equipped with all the basic facilities including sitting arrangements, jogging tracks and swings for children. He said the Authority has developed the village on the outskirts of the capital to relocate the dwellers of ‘katchi abadis’ including Muslim Colony, Haq Bahu, Dhoke Najju and Essa Nagri set up in different sectors. The town accommodates most of the dwellers of capital’s four ‘katchi aabadis.’ There are 4,000 plots in the Farash Town which covers the area of 165 acres adding that the facilities may be added in future of it was required. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=142289 |
