Rawalpindi: CM to open two new hospitals in Pindi soon
Member National Assembly Hanif Abbasi here Saturday said that Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif would soon inaugurate state-of-the-art cardiac and urology hospitals in Rawalpindi that would support the whole population living in the country’s north.
He said this while addressing an oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of Pakistan Chemists & Druggists Association, Federal Branch Islamabad that included Chairman Tariq Saeed, Vice Chairman Ahsan Bakhtawari, General Secretary Qaiser Masood, Finance Secretary Arif Yar Khan, Secretary Coordination Tariq Mehmood and Joint Secretary Malik Ishfaq. According to a press release, Abbasi further said that democratic stability tied to political and economic stability could change the country’s fate, adding that chemists are assisting the noblest of the causes by serving humanity and should continue with the same zeal. “My doors are open for everyone and I will continue to raise voice for traders’ rights in the National Assembly,” he vowed and said that Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital would be upgraded to match the stature of the personality it is named after. Speaking on the occasion, Drug Controller Raoof Khalid said the chemists’ profit margin should be enhanced to improve the quality of service and medicines. He said the concept of chain pharmacies has not only been accepted widely but has gained trust of the masses. “The Health Ministry will continue to work for the betterment of the people with the help of all stakeholders,” Khalid said. President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry Mian Shaukat Masood in his speech called for waiving all duties on health apparatus, adding that the Chamber would always support the just demands of chemists and called upon them to use this platform to resolve their issues. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=189926 |
