Karachi: Valuables worth Rs5 million robbed from bank’s lockers
Two armed men barged into the Habib Bank, Sharea Faisal Branch in the Sharea Faisal police jurisdiction on Monday and looted valuables worth Rs five million.
The bandits first hit the butt on the skull of the watchman and then tied him with a rope. Later, the bandits broke at least 75 lockers and took away gold ornaments and other valuables worth Rs five million and fled. In the morning when the other guard came to the branch he saw the night security guard tied with ropes. The security guard immediately informed the bank manager, Amjed Ali Qadri, about the incident. The bank manager rushed to the branch and informed the police. During the initial interrogation, the injured security guard said that last night two men came and said that they had come from the main branch and wanted to do some work. When he opened the door they injured him by hitting him on the head. Police registered the case 811/08 on the complaint of the bank manager against unknown people. Watchman killed: Armed men looted iron plates and killed a watchman on resistance on Monday. A group of five armed men riding a truck barged into Aqeel Traders near Suparco in the Mauripur police limits. They snatched the pistol from Muhammad Aslam, 45, a watchman of a factory and when he resisted, they opened fire and killed him on the spot. After killing the watchman they loaded two tonnes of iron plates on the truck and managed to escape. In the morning when the owner of the trading company came to his factory he saw the the body of his watchman.
