Karachi: Encroachments: SHC notices to CDGK, SITE Town

The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Wednesday issued notice to the City District Government Karachi (CDGK), SITE Town Nazim and others on a petition against road encroachments in the Metrovelle area.

The petitioner, Rafiullah Advocate, submitted that roads of Metrovelle, SITE, had been encroached upon by push carts and hawkers creating hardships to the area residents and traffic jam at large. The petitioner prayed the court to direct the SITE Town and the CDGK to remove the encroachments and ensure smooth flow of traffic.

The SHC’s division bench issued notices to the SITE Town and CDGK for November 4.

Petition against telecom tower: The same bench also issued notice to deputy attorney general, Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) and others on a petition against installment of telecom tower in the Clifton area.

The petitioner, Shaheen Soomro, submitted that telecom towers had been installed by a private company adjacent to his house putting in danger the lives of his family members. He prayed the court to direct the respondent to remove the tower from the residential area.
