No drone strikes in Balochistan, Kayani tells US

LAHORE: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Kayani has said Pakistan will not allow US drones to attack Balochistan, a private TV channel reported on Tuesday. Quoting sources in the ISPR, the channel reported that Kayani attended the 28th Tripartite Commission, consisting of senior military representatives from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Coalition Forces in Afghanistan, where he met Afghan army chief General Bismullah Khan and ISAF Commander
General McChrystal.

Drone attacks in Balochistan won’t be allowed: Kayani

KABUL (updated on: September 29, 2009, 21:56 PST): Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that the US drone attacks would not be allowed in Balochistan, Aaj News reported on Tuesday.

According to the channel, COAS said this in Tripartite Commission meets in Kabul.

The channel quoted ISPR as saying that the Tripartite Commission composed of senior military representatives from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Coalition Forces in Afghanistan, held its 28th meeting in Kabul.

Delegations were headed by General Bismullah Khan, Chief of the General Staff Afghan National Army, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Pakistan and General McCrystal, Commander International Security Assistance Forces, Afghanistan.

During his visit to Kabul, COAS also met Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai.
