New CDA Chairman vows to expedite expansion of Kashmir Highway
Islamabad—A delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) led by its President Shaban Khalid visited the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to congratulate Maroof Afzal on his appointment as Chairman CDA. The new Chairman CDA shared his vision with the ICCI delegation to make the civic body an efficient organization. He informed that his first visit was to check the status of work on Kashmir Highway and said that CDA has expedited the pace of work on the expansion and rehabilitation of Kashmir Highway. He said hopefully this project, which remained under construction for the last 3 years, would be completed soon and one side of Kashmir Highway would be opened within 40 days to ease the woes of commuters & citizens of Islamabad.
He said CDA is considering reviving One Window Operation to facilitate its stakeholders and with the revival of this facility, business community as well as the residents of Islamabad will feel easy as their complaints and problems will be addressed under one roof. He stressed that the functionality and purpose of the One Window Operation is to implement the transparency which will be ensured.
Maroof Afzal said CDA will work for the betterment of Islamabad in consultation with ICCI, the business community and other stakeholders so that it could move forward with consensus to make the federal capital a modern & well-planned city. He said CDA will utilize best of its resources and entire civic body will work as a team to serve the residents of Islamabad.
He said that dignity of CDA will be revived and the relationship between CDA and citizens of Islamabad will be further consolidated. He said CDA will take all possible measures to facilitate business community in smooth growth of business activities.
Speaking at the occasion, Shaban Khalid, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry said that the close working relationship between CDA and ICCI is crucial to create an enabling environment for business activities to flourish.
