Chief Secretary Orders Swift Digitization of LDA Records within Two Months
In an official directive, Chief Secretary (CS) Punjab, Zahid Akhtar Zaman, has set a stringent timeline for the comprehensive digitization of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) records, demanding the completion of this process within a two-month period.
This directive was made during the Chief Secretary's visit to LDA's One Window Cell on a recent Tuesday. During his visit, CS Zahid Akhtar Zaman interacted with citizens and inquired about the services provided by the One Window Cell. Notably, he also addressed concerns related to delays in cases concerning Mohlanwal and Johar Town.
Furthermore, a special meeting was convened to evaluate the performance of LDA's One Window Cell. During this session, CS Zaman emphasized the need for expeditious record digitization using additional resources. He stressed that the transfer of plots and the approval of building plans should be conducted automatically, without necessitating recommendations.
The Chief Secretary highlighted the pivotal role of complete record digitization in the functionality of the One Window Cell. It is envisioned that this digitization process will expedite the issuance of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and building plan approvals, ultimately reducing processing times.
In addition to this, the meeting also underlined the importance of curbing illegal commercial activities within the city. Commissioner and DG LDA, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, presented an overview of the One Window Cell's performance, along with other reforms such as the updating of records for housing societies. To enhance accessibility, the working hours of LDA's One Window Cell have been extended until 9 PM. Notably, individuals above the age of 75 can benefit from the delivery of documents to their doorsteps at no cost.
