KARACHI: A property dealer was gunned down inside his shop in Jhanjar Goth in the limits of Gulshan-e-Maymar police station.

According to police, the victim was identified as 55-year-old Ghulam Mohammad, son of Mohammad Akbar, who was at his shop named Al-Asr Estate Agency, when two men entered the shop and asked his name. Upon getting his reply, they opened fire on him and killed him on the spot, they added.

Police further said the victim was a resident of Sana Apartments in Gulistan-e-Jauhar and believed a business dispute could be the cause behind the murder. The police later shifted his body to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities.

In another incident, a 30-year-old man, identified as Rab Nawaz, son of Abdul Rab was shot at least 22 times allegedly by members of a drug peddler group in Shanti Nagar, Dalmia within the limits of Aziz Bhatti police station. Police suspected the man was killed on suspicion of being a police informer and two or more automatic weapons were used in the assassination as police found several different empty shells at the crime scene.

Police also suspected the family of the girl to whom Nawaz had fallen in love could be involved in the killing.
