LAHORE: The ongoing dispute between judges and lawyers was settled after the lawyer who slapped a civil judge in his courtroom apologised before the Faisalabad sessions judge on Monday, a private TV channel reported. Following Liaqat Ali’s apology to Civil Judge Tariq Mehmood, the judges of lower courts announced the end of their symbolic strike. Addressing a press conference in Faisalabad, District and Sessions Judge Sohail Nasir and Faisalabad District Bar President Ahsan Iqbal announced reconciliation between the bar and the bench, adding that lawyers and judges would return to the courts immediately. Civil judges in Lahore also called off their symbolic strike after the lawyer apologised for his behaviour. daily times monitor
