Sunder Industrial Estate: registration of plots lying vacant to be cancelled, says CM - Lahore_Real_Estate - 05-10-2010 01:27 PM LAHORE (May 10 2010): Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has ordered that registration of such plots in Sundar Industrial Estate should immediately be cancelled which are still vacant despite passage of the given deadline. He said a transparent policy for re-allotment of these plots to those real investors should be devised who are interested in setting up of industries. Besides, housing colony, provision of educational, medical and all other facilities should be ensured and housing colony should be an essential part of industrial estate to be set up in future. A decision has been taken for establishing new industrial estates in Sheikhupura, Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha and Kasur to speed up industrial development in the province. He was addressing a meeting after visiting Sundar Industrial Estate. Provincial Minister for Prisons Ch. Abdul Ghafoor, MNAs, Vice Chairman Punjab Investment Board, Chairman S and other concerned officers attended the meeting. Chairman Punjab Industrial Estates gave briefing about the projects of the company. Shahbaz said that promotion of industrial and economic activities is our top priority and solid steps are being taken for this purpose. Punjab government has evolved an effective strategy for promotion of industrial development and investment, he added. He said the previous regime carried out property business in the name of Lahore Ring Road project . Similarly, plots were also obtained in Sundar Industrial estate for minting money and no industrial activity was carried out even after lapse of four years. He said registration of all such plots would be cancelled and these plots would be allotted to those investors through balloting who are interested in setting up industries so that people could be provided job opportunities. He directed Secretary Labour to submit a comprehensive report for setting up housing colonies in Sundar Industrial Estate and Faisalabad Industrial Estate within two weeks. He said that Chairman TEVTA should make planning in consultation with management of Punjab Industrial Estates for setting up state of the art technical institute in each industrial estate. |
