LDA demolishes four illegal constructions in Gulberg - Lahore_Real_Estate - 08-25-2010 12:23 PM LAHORE: The Town Planning Wing and Enforcement Directorate of the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) on Tuesday demolished as many as four illegal constructions related to three different restaurants in different areas of Gulberg. LDA authorities have continued their drive in posh areas of the city against encroachment and illegal use of property. In an operation on Tuesday, LDA staff demolished an illegal commercial building that was constructed at a residential property number 46-C-2 in Gulberg-III. According to the LDA officials on the spot, no residential property could be used for commercial purposes until getting a no-objection certificate, adding that the said property was being used as a commercial building, which was why they demolished it without any problem, as the authorities concerned had already issued notices to the property owner. The LDA staff also demolished illegal constructions of a restaurant located in Gulberg-II at property number 20-B. According to the staff, although the restaurant was located at a commercial area, it was functioning illegally as the property owner had only been permitted to run a shop, not to use it as a restaurant. In another operation near Mini Market, LDA authorities retrieved a piece of land, which had been grabbed by the owners of the Lahore Chatkhara restaurant and demolished all the encroachments done there. Taking more action against encroachments in Gulberg-III, LDA authorities demolished some encroachments done by a restaurant in its parking area at property number 7-A-III. |
