Altaf hopes assassins will be held soon - Lahore_Real_Estate - 09-22-2010 12:47 PM KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said that the British investigation agencies were probing the murder of Dr Imran Farooq and hoped that the assassins would be unmasked soon. He said this while talking to the members of the MQM coordination committee over the phone from London here on Saturday, said a press release. He said the killing of Dr Farooq was the biggest tragedy that party had ever suffered. He paid tribute to the slain leader and said his association with Dr Farooq spanned over 32 years. Dr Farooq, he said, had devoted his entire life for achieving the real objectives of the party. He said the British police and investigation agencies were probing the murder of Dr Farooq and they would soon unmask the killers and bring them to justice. Meanwhile, a leader of the Pakistan People’s Party, Fauzia Wahab, visited the MQM headquarters, commonly known as Nine Zero, to express her condolence over Dr Farooq’s assassination. She condemned the murder and termed it an act against democracy and political parties. She said Dr Farooq was a simple man and his murder was an irreparable loss to the MQM. Meanwhile, a number of religious, political and social personalities visited the Nine Zero to offer their condolences over the killing of the MQM leader. According to a press release, PML-F leader Imamuddin Shauqeen, PML-N leader Azhar Zaidi, NPP leader Abid Jatoi and Masroor Jatoi, Allama Abbas Kumaili, Maulana Tanveerul Haq Thanvi and others met the members of the coordination committee and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the soul in eternal peace. It said they demanded that the British government arrest the killers of Dr Farooq and award them stern punishment. |
