KARACHI: Nazim vows to remove encroachments in Scheme 33 - CMY - 06-18-2008 01:56 PM KARACHI: Gulshan-e-Iqbal Town Nazim Wasay Jalil informed that the land of scheme-33 has been allotted to 135 cooperative housing societies but only 35 have been established while others have been occupied by the land mafia. “Encroachments will be removed from different societies and all efforts will be made to recover land grabbed by the mafia,” he said while visiting the Institute of Medical Technology, Dow Diagnostic University located in Scheme 33 on Tuesday along with TMO Shafiq-ur-Rehman, and KWSB and KESC representatives. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Masood Hameed informed that the university occupies 56 acre and is facing sewerage and encroachment problems. He also requested the city government to improve electricity arrangement to help students study in a pleasant environment. Jalil assured to resolve water, sewerage and encroachment issues and said that the city government has recently installed a sewerage system by spending millions of rupees to facilitate people. Shuhuda Park in Liaquatabad: Liaquatabad Town Nazim Osama Qadri inaugurated the Shuhuda Park in Bandhani Colony, UC-6 and said that efforts are being made to resolve civic issues besides providing better recreational facilities to the residents. Work on Siraj-ul-Dola Road started: Jamshed Town Naib Nazim Ziauddin Jamal informed that work on the second track of Siraj-ul-Dola Road worth Rs 16 million has started. He directed the officials concerned to expedite the work and complete it as soon as possible to benefits the area residents. He visited different areas with TMO Masroor Ahmed Memon and other officials. Renovation of schools and colleges started: North Nazimabad Acting Nazim Ahsanullah Khan said that work to renovate different schools and colleges have started and will be completed before the new academic session starts.
