CDA claims of potable water, dirty as water supplied - Salman - 11-28-2011 11:04 AM CDA claims of potable water, dirty as water supplied SLAMABAD: Member Prime Ministers steering committee for Islamabad Faisal Sakhi Butt said that Rent Control Act(RCA) in Islamabad would be reviewed soon to secure rights of traders. He said this while speaking to oath taking ceremony of Traders Welfare Association Jinnah Super Market here on Saturday night at a local hotel. He said shop owners wouldnt be allowed to grab the business rights of low-income traders. The newly elected president of the association Ijaz Abbasi secured 259 votes against Kahlid Malik who got only 26 votes. The president of the association in his welcome address highlighted the problems, which traders of Jinnah super market facing for long. He demanded to Capital Development Authority (CDA) that residence quota for small traders along side all of the Mrakiz of Islamabad should be restored on priority basis. He said that Jinnah Super market lacks proper parking lot, in this wake a multi-story parking plaza should be established. He said that education quota should be given to the children of traders in schools and colleges of Islamabad. He said the market lacks proper toilet amenities, in this wake he asked CDA to provide public toilets according to standard of the market. Meanwhile, President Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Yasir Sakhi Butt, Member CDA Planing Wing, Chief Commissioner ICT Tariq Pirzada, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Amir Ahmed Ali, IG Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Malik Yousaf were also present on the occasion. IG Islamabad assured the traders that security situation in the market would be upgraded to provide safe business environment. |
