CM reviews Bab-e-Pakistan’s construction - Lahore_Real_Estate - 01-27-2012 12:03 PM LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high level meeting to review the progress on the Bab-e-Pakistan complex project at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Thursday. The CM said the Bab-e-Pakistan was important as it was dedicated to the nation’s forefathers who rendered sacrifices for the country and that the project would highlight their sacrifices and make the youth aware about the Pakistan Movement. He directed that the project, which had been delays, be completed within the specified time frame. A number of decisions regarding the project’s completion were also taken. The Bab-e-Pakistan Project Director Col ® Shabbir and Project Secretary Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik gave a detailed briefing about the project’s construction and the reasons behind the delay. Corps Commander Lt Gen Rashid Mehmood, GOC Maj Gen Azeem Asif, Planning and Development chairman, the finance, communication and works and information departments’ secretaries, Lahore division commissioner and other officers were also present. MEETS EU AMBASSADOR: European Union ambassador and head of EU delegation to Pakistan Lars-Gunnar Wigemark met the CM and discussed matters of mutual interest as well as cooperation in different sectors. Provincial Minister for Agriculture Ahmad Ali Aulakh and Member Provincial Assembly Shahzadi Umarzadi Tiwana were also present on the occasion. The CM said there was a wide scope of investment in livestock, dairy farming and agriculture sectors and agri items of Punjab have been showcased first time in the International Green Week in Berlin, Germany. He said that as a result of his visit, culture minister of Germany will visit Punjab next month which will open up new avenues of bilateral cooperation. |
