CM approves Rs 100m for boys college

RAWALPINDI - Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif has approved a grant of Rs 100 million for construction of Bhousa Godown College for Boys in Cantt area. The college building would be constructed at an area of 15 canals and seven marlas. The college would help facilitate students of Dokhe Rata, Hazara Colony, Babu Lal Hussain, Dokhe Haso, Dokhe Matkial, Railways Colony.
PTDC offering free assistance to tourists: MD: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation Managing Director Mir Shahjahan Khetran has said that corporation’s 18 tourist information centres are offering free assistance to tourists in planning their holidays across the country. Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation is a National Tourism Organization responsible for promotion and development of tourism in the country, he said this while talking to this agency.
He added that PTDC has established its hotels, motels, and restaurants at 40 tourist spots throughout the country especially in Chitral Valley, Bamburate, Chitral, Booni and Mastuj offering quality accommodation and meals services for Pakistani and foreign tourists.
PTDC has a large transport fleet and an exclusive tour operating company offering regular city tours, day excursions and overnight tours especially designed for Pakistani tourists and students, he said.
He said that PTDC is also offering special discounted tour packages and its transport and accommodation facility for Pakistani families and students so that they can enjoy natural beauty, diverse culture and rich heritage of their own beloved country.
Local administration launches crackdown against profiteers: On the directives of District Coordination Officer (DCO), Assistant Commissioner City Quratulain launched a crackdown against shopkeepers involved in overcharging.
During the operation, cases were registered against around six shopkeepers besides sending them to jail. While, Rs 15,000 fine was imposed on three shopkeepers for not following the prescribed rate list. The Assistant Commissioner conducted raids in areas of Sadiqabad and Airport Police Stations and took action against the profiteers.
The commissioner also imposed Rs 12,000 fines to a butcher involved in selling unhygienic beef and Rs 3,000 to owner of a super store for overcharging. The Commissioner asked the shopkeepers to follow the prescribed rats list issued by the local administration.
