Rawal Town admin active against encroachers - Salman - 10-08-2012 12:49 PM RAWALPINDI – Officer of Tehsil Municipal Administration, Rawal Town, namely Aftab Chohan has said that anti-encroachment campaign is going on here with full momentum. Talking to an Urdu daily, the Rawal town officer said that staff has been deployed on routes serving as alternative of the under-construction Murree Road flyover. The staff remains busy in removing the encroachers from these routes, he noted. He said that there is shortage of employees in the anti-encroachment department. But the administration is keeping up with the available personnel, he observed. Meanwhile, Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA), Rawal Town has confiscated seven truckloads from different city markets under its special anti-encroachment operation launched to clear roads being used as alternative routes by the motorists during the sixth road flyover construction period. According to TMA, Rawal Town spokesman, a special anti-encroachment operation was launched on the special directives of Rawal Town Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa in the city area to clear alternative routes to be used by the motorists during the sixth road flyover completion period of 120 days. Under the special operation, supervised by Town Officer Regulation Aftab Chohan, the team removed illegal encroachments from Sadiqabad, Muslim Town, Chandni Chowk, Forth Road, Saidpur and Pindora, and confiscated two truckloads goods. A number of shopkeepers have also been issued warnings that cases would be registered against those found induldged in encroachments and the violators of the orders of the administration while as many as 15 shopkeepers were imposed fines for the encroachments. The ongoing anti-encroachment operation has further been intensified aimed at providing relief to the citizens on the roads. The spokesman said that special anti-encroachment operation was launched recently and the city markets are being visited regularly and the staff concerned conducting raids at main markets and roads of the town. |
