4 flyovers to make traffic signal-free - Salman - 11-27-2012 03:15 PM KARACHI - The Administrator of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Hussain Syed said that Shahrah-e-Pakistan was an important corridor of the City which connected central part of the City to highway.Timely construction of four flyovers at this corridor was important to further enhance the connectivity. He stated this while inspecting the development works of flyovers at four different intersections at Shahrah-e-Pakistan (Corridor-V) on Monday.On this occasion Director General Technical Services Altaf G Memon, Project Directors, concerned Engineers and other officers were also present.He said that these four flyovers were started to make Shahrah-e-Pakistan signal free to facilitate people. He said that completion of Corridor-V would facilitate the traffic of Marton Road, Lasbella, PIB Colony, Nazimabad, Azizabad, Ancholi, Karimabad and Super highway.He insisted that speed to complete the construction be accelerated after Ashura-e-Muharram.Administrator Karachi cautioned that he would pay sudden visits and would inspect the development works himself any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.During his visit, he also reviewed the progress of construction works of water pump, Aisha Manzil, Dakhana and Teen Hatti and issued directives.He directed to follow traffic diversion plan especially to facilitate the citizens and prevent citizens from any inconvenience during construction works. He said that Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad was taking special interest in construction of these flyovers.The administrator assured that all resources for construction of four flyovers at Shahrah-e-Pakistan were being utilized which will help completing the projects on time. |
