The excise department has passed a recommendation to impose property tax on the 5 Marla plots in the posh areas of Lahore. This recommendation however was rejected by the caretaker government. The excise department passed this recommendation to impose taxes on 5 Marla plots in Grade-A areas which would increase the income of the excise and taxation department but the caretaker government rejected it.
Moreover the government inquired the taxation department of the still not under taken property taxation survey. The excise department was instructed to carry it out in the next four months.
