Islamabad : The roads and streetlights of G-9/4 Sector, Islamabad are in dilapidated condition since long. CDA seems to be least bothered in rectifying the genuine civic problems of the residents of the locality. CDA has occasionally been very generous to do the patchwork on these roads, which is instantly washed away after a short rainfall. Moreover, the speedy wear and tear resulting from routine traffic telltales the quality of work done by the CDA contractors under the supervision of the CDA engineers. This casual dispensation of the mandated duties of the CDA in providing service to the residents, brings a remedy which is short-lived. The inhabitants of the sector are suffering from miserable living conditions. Sewerage system and bare electricity wires on most of the places pose a threat for safety and security of the residents, further aggravated by the broken and non-operational street lights, but unfortunately CDA is paying no heed to these serious issues which are converting the area into a slum having multiple civic absurdities. The inhabitants of the sector had already brought the situation to the notice of the Chairman, CDA through Mr. Asad Umar, MNA, but all their requests and appeals have borne no fruit. Once again they are demanding through print media and also hope from high authorities of CDA to take notice of these issues to resolve the problems of the area.
