No Repair Plan for Dilapidated IJP Road - Salman - 05-05-2015 07:12 PM
Public has asked officials and higher authorities to pay attention to the repair and expansion of long neglected IJ Principal Road.
The road is known as the most burdened facility for the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Currently, it is full of potholes and uneven surfaces at various places therefore, causing great inconvenience for the commuters.
The road has major link for many adjacent areas of the twin cities along with accommodating goods and passenger vehicles plying to and from different parts of the country. It has to bear extra burden of the converted traffic due to Metro bus project. Due to the poor condition and heavy traffic load, the traffic moves at extremely slow pace and appears from the gridlock situation, which is now a routine scene.
The situation is problematic for motorists but neither Capital Development Authority nor National Highway Authority have planned an alternate route to ensure smooth flow of traffic or planned to repair road yet.
