Karachi: Establishment of cattle market in SITE approved - Naveed Yaseen - 11-04-2008 08:08 AM

The SITE Town Council in its fourth monthly session on Monday gave the approval for establishing a cattle market, including the purchase of water tankers before Eidul Azha. The council further approved for the up-grading of some employees of the town.

The session was held with Naib Nazim, Syed Badshah Khan who gave the approval for the appointment of Fauzia Perveen in the place of her late husband. The session further approved for the purchase of three water tankers, promotion of BS-11 employees into BS-14 and inviting tenders for the privatisation of garbage transfer stations.

The SITE Town Council also offered Fateha for all those who died in the Balochistan earthquake. PPI adds: Shah Faisal Town Nazim has directed the Solid Waste Department to take action against persons involved in burning garbage, which results in environmental pollution.

The directives were issued while inspecting ongoing work of cleanliness launched under ‘Clean and Green Shah Faisal Town’ drive at various localities of the town on Monday. The Nazim appealed to the citizens to inform the town administration about persons involved in burning of garbage. He also asked them to contribute in making the town clean and green by planting trees.

NEW KARACHI: An anti stray-dog drive will be launched in the jurisdiction of New Karachi Town during the night of Tuesday and Wednesday. On the directives of Town Nazim Muhammad Zulfiqar, the TMO Syed Kamal Ahmed, TO infra structure Raza Muhammad Memon, DTO sanitation, Syed Sarwar Ali would supervise the work. People have been requested to keep their pets inside and lodge complaints, if any, at town complaint office on 6950001-7-8.
