LAHORE NEWS: Punjab Industries and Commerce Secretary Lt ® Sohail Ashraf stated on Wednesday that the Special Economic Zones (SEZs) were essential for the nation’s economic progress.
In a statement to the media, Secretary Ashraf promised that all SEZs would receive all the amenities and facilities necessary for the industrialization and habitation of the unoccupied industrial lots.
He also assessed current construction, including the number of vacant lots, their costs, the amount of outstanding debt owed by the businesses, and the availability of gas, electricity, and other auxiliary infrastructure.

Furthermore, apart from Allama Iqbal Industrial City, he also went to the M-3 Industrial Estate run by the Faisalabad Industrial Estate and Development Management Company (FIEDMC) to check over the construction projects.
It is worth mentioning that under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Pakistan is currently building 9 industrial complexes around the country to accelerate economic growth and these SEZs are positioned as the CPEC Phase II’s most crucial stage.
