NAB Recovers Rs. 600 Million from Arain City Fateh Jang Settlement Reached for Victims

In recent news on October 21, a private housing society in collaboration with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Rawalpindi has come to an agreement that will result in the disbursement of PKR 600 million among the affected parties in the near future.

The NAB spokesperson confirmed that the Accountability Court-1 has given its approval to the plea agreement without any reservations. Approximately 1,019 individuals had invested in plots within Arain City Fateh Jang at a considerable cost, with the promise of owning these plots. However, they were left without the plots they were assured. According to a representative from the NAB, the affected parties will soon receive the recovered funds.

Furthermore, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has launched an extensive campaign against illegal housing societies, which involved the removal of encroachments and unauthorized structures in 11 different societies. Additionally, as per the RDA's findings, 336 out of the 484 housing societies in the garrison city are operating without the necessary legal documentation from the governing body, thus rendering them unlawful.
