This announcement was made during an IT seminar held on December 13, as reported by news sources. Minister Saif, addressing the seminar, underscored the crucial role of implementing revolutionary measures in the IT sector to stabilize the national economy. The Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) is actively taking significant steps in this direction, fostering collaboration between the civil and military establishment and stakeholders. On the same day, Minister Saif shared on 'X' (formerly Twitter) that the National Space Policy aims to empower private sector companies to offer affordable internet services in the country, with expectations of boosting investment in the national space program. Additionally, he disclosed the replacement of the Federal Investigation Agency with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency to combat cybercrimes in the country. In the same announcement, Minister Saif unveiled plans by the IT ministry to establish a Special Telecom Tribunal, expediting court cases from the telecom sector for timely resolution and facilitating spectrum availability for 5G. According to Kearney’s Global Services Location Index, Pakistan holds the position as the world’s second most financially attractive IT and ITeS outsourcing destination. Simultaneously, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) has ranked Pakistan as the third-largest supplier of digital labor services, with a notable second place for being the most significant supplier of digital labor.
