THE Glaucoma (Kala Motia) is considered as the number one cause of irreversible blindness in the underdeveloped and developing countries of the world.
This was stated by Prof Syed Imtiaz Ali, President of Pakistan Glaucoma Association and Prof Nadeem H Butt, Eye Department Jinnah, Lahore, who was also the president-elect of PGA while stressing to create awareness among the medical professionals regarding eye disorders during a press conference organised at the Lahore Press Club on Sunday in connection with the World Glaucoma Day on March 12.
They said the people usually ignored Kala Motia and mistook it as Safaid Motia which resulted in blindness. “The people must not ignore weakness of eyesight and immediately get their eyes examined to prevent eye disorders and blindness,” they added.
