Islamabad High Court disposes of Abu Dhabi Towers case - CMY - 06-04-2008 11:11 AM ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Aslam on Tuesday disposed of an application filed by a construction company against Capital Development Authority (CDA) for non-payment of Rs480 million dues after both the parties told the court that they had hired an expert to settle their dispute. Al-Sadiq Construction Company had purchased land in F-11 for construction of Abu Dhabi Towers (apartment building) against payment of Rs 480 million. However, the company withheld the remaining payment to the CDA after finding that the land measurements were not according to the measurements shown on paper. Earlier on Friday the court had directed both the CDA and the company to nominate an expert with consensus to settle their row over land measurement and payment of outstanding dues. On Tuesday, the court was informed that both the parties had hired Institute of Architects, Rawalpindi, Chairman Salman Mansoor as an expert to settle the dispute. The court, however, directed both the parties to take back Rs 0.3 million fees paid to the previous expert and pay it to the new expert. In its application, the company had contended that the authority was not paying it outstanding dues of Rs480-million http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2008%5C06%5C04%5Cstory_4-6-2008_pg11_3 |
