Traders welcome new CDA chairman - LahoreEstate - 06-27-2009 05:49 AM Saturday, June 27, 2009 Islamabad Traders of Islamabad have lauded the appointment of Imtiaz Inayat Elahi as Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman and assured their full cooperation to him, says a press release. “He is a seasoned officer having exceptional qualities with unparallel integrity. He has the vision to resolve the outstanding issues of people,” said Malik Sohail Hussain, VP NTA, President Traders Welfare Association (TWA), Blue Area, former SVP ICCI and Advisor TAC, in a meeting of TWA. He said the policies of city managers should be based on respectable behaviour, honesty, good governance, clarity, transparency, matchless service, merit and making the city greener. Elahi should open his doors for everyone having any good suggestion for improvement. Former chairmen of the civic body had promised to establish dispensary, mosque, library, union office, parking facilities and filtration plants in the Blue Area but to no avail, said Malik. Islamabad is not new for Elahi; he has proved his mettle while serving here in various capacities, said Malik Saghir, TWA Chairman and he can make a change once again. Others present in the meeting included Liaquat Noon, Ahsan Bakhtawari, Yusaf Rajput, Asad Rashid, Haji Muhammad Naeem, Shahid Alam and Shakil Aziz said we expect that ongoing developmental projects would be completed soon and environment will figure prominently on the agenda of CDA. Chief of civic agency should serve masses keeping him above all the preconceptions. Recreation-starved population must enjoy upgraded facilities and issue of parking should be resolved immediately, they demanded.
