Islamabad: PSDP allocation for CDA rises to Rs 2.5bn - Naveed Yaseen - 07-01-2009 04:53 AM ISLAMABAD: In budget 2009-10, the federal government has increased allocations for Capital Development Authority (CDA) under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP). Last year, PSDP allocations for CDA were Rs 392.114 million and now they have gone up to Rs 2.549 billion. The government has made these allocations for 22 different projects, including addition of third and fourth lanes to Kashmir Highway from Peshwar Mor to Golra Mor at a cost of Rs 300 million. Similarly, Rs 200 million has been allocated for widening of Islamabad Expressway from Koral Chowk to GT Road; Rs 98.133 million for security arrangements at Parliament House; Rs 10.007 million for installation of CCTV system in the Senate Hall; Rs 349 million for construction of a second hanger (pre-engineering steel structure) at Islamabad Heliport; Rs 200 million for construction of permanent offices for heads of parliamentary standing committees; Rs 200 million for construction of offices of parliamentary secretaries and 106 family suits each. The government has allocated Rs 87.344 million for furnishing of Supreme Court (SC) building; Rs 63.693 million for up-gradation and renovation of public address, simultaneous interpretation and automatic vote casting system installed in the Senate; Rs 48.900 million for renovation of Aiwan-e-Sadr and Rs 40 million for construction of residential and non-residential units for police at the same building. Air conditioning facilities at Parliament House will cost Rs 37.979 million; installation of security equipment and fire alarm system at the Cabinet Block building Rs 37.433 million; installation of CCTV system and other related equipment at Parliament House Rs 26.725 million and replacement of a lift at Pakistan Secretariat Rs 26.096 million. Rs 25.770 million has been allocated for improvement of HVAC system and furnishing of Aiwan-e-Sadr building; Rs 12.201 million for construction of flats for AGPR in Sector G-9/2; Rs 11.332 million for construction of lifts at previous USAID building and Rs 10.074 for construction of official residence for National Assembly speaker. http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2009\07\01\story_1-7-2009_pg11_4 |
