LAHORE: The Shalimar Town union council has approved a tax-free budget of Rs 194.226 million for the fiscal year 2009-10, a private TV channel reported.
According to the channel, Shalimar Town Nazim Shafqatun Nisa could not attend the budget session due to illness. Assistant Town Officer Faraz Shakeel Ahmed presented the budget in the house. Rs 117.4 million were allocated for development projects whereas Rs 76.8 million were allocated for non-development projects. 18 out of 25 town members attended the budget session and approved the budget unanimously.
Talking to the channel, Naib Shalimar Town Nazim Shazia Kamran thanked the council members for unanimously approving the budget.
