Sources said police took the US nationals into custody during routine patrolling, as the men were dressed as Afghans. The Americans were travelling in two vehicles and had cameras and weapons with them, a police official said, adding that they resisted arrest and did not allow officials to search their automobiles. Senior police officials and US embassy staff arrived at the scene upon receiving word of the incident. When contacted, the US embassy spokesman said he did not have any information regarding the incident.
