Resolution to recover written off loans - LRE - 12-26-2009 10:19 PM Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presented a resolution for the recovery of loans worth billions of rupees which were written off on political basis, during a function arranged by Nazaria Pakistan Trust on the birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. The resolution was supported by all participants of the function, who raised their hands and raised slogans for the recovery of loans along with the amount of fine. CM lauded for steps for education: Glowing tributes were paid to the educational reforms of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif by the speakers at a function held in connection with birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam at Awan-e-Nazaria Pakistan here on Friday. The speakers observed that the recent steps by the Punjab government had left a positive impact on education sector at every level. Former vice-chancellor of the Punjab University and prominent educationist and economist Dr. Muhammad Rafique said that the provision of quality education to Muslims was among the top priorities of Quaid-e-Azam and the chief minister was trying to materialise this dream of the Quaid through his educational programme. He said, in order to achieve the desired objectives in education sector, there was a need to encourage talented students and the CM was fulfilling this obligation by giving incentives to the top position holders. Dr. Rafique said the speech and essay writing competitions being arranged at tehsil and district levels in the province would help in the character-building and polishing the talent of students. He described the project of Danish Schools as the need of the hour, saying such educational institutions for the children of deprived segments of the society should be set up throughout the country. Fazl calls on CM: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam ameer Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman called on the Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif, here on Friday.
