PC-1 of Red Zone security projects reviewed - Lahore_Real_Estate - 01-11-2010 02:10 PM Staff Report ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration on Friday reviewed the PC-1 of the projects prepared by the Capital Development Authority (CDA) for upgrading and strengthening the security of Red Zone in the metropolis. The PC-1 of new security projects for upgrading the security arrangements in Islamabad’s high security zone (Red Zone) including Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat, Pak Secretariat buildings and offices was discussed and reviewed in a high level meeting. Islamabad Chief Commissioner Shahid Mahmood chaired the meeting, said a senior official of ICT. He said CDA in consultation with the high-ranking officials of ICT administration, capital police and other concerned departments prepared the PC-1 of the project. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amer Ali Ahmed, Islamabad Deputy Inspector General Police (DIG) Police (Operation) Bin Yameen, Director Admin Chaudhry Muhammad Ali, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan and other senior officials of ICT and CDA attended the meeting, he said. The official said the meeting was informed that PC-1 of the project costing Rs 15 million to strengthen security arrangements for Pak Secretariat buildings and offices had already been approved. Mahmood directed the CDA’s officials concerned to start work on this project immediately, he said. He said the participants of meeting also discussed the PC-1 of new security project of High Security Zone (Red Zone) and Shaheed -e-Millat Secretariat prepared by CDA and gave final touches to these projects .The PC-1 of these projects will be shortly submitted to the federal government for approval and work on the projects will be started soon after allocation of funds by the government, he said. It is learnt that the security of high security zone (Red Zone) and Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat will be further up-graded and fencing will be raised around Red Zone. CCTV cameras, drop down barriers, gates, scanners and other high security gadgets and guard rooms would be installed at the entry points of Red Zone. |
