Pak-US strategic dialogue to result in lasting relationship’
KARACHI: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan said Thursday that with the ongoing Pak-US strategic dialogue, an impression was emerging for the first time that the US was keen on having lasting relations with Pakistan. A lot of hope was attached for the future relationship through this dialogue and its success would determine a new direction, he said while talking to a US delegation, headed by US Assistant Secretary for South Asia Robert O Blake Jr that called on him at the Governor’s House. The governor told the delegation that at present, the province needed US investment in water, power and infrastructure development. Blake said his visit was manifestation of the fact that US has carved out a new direction in its relations with Pakistan and they have to be strengthened with every passing moment. He observed that at present power shortage was an important issue for which the US has extended assurances of help during the ongoing dialogue. app
