New Islamabad International Airport: 70% work completed
ISLAMABAD: Over 70 percent work on NIIA has been completed. The project is worth Rs 24 billion and 3288 acres of land was allocated for it. Another 542 acres were allocated for secondary runway. The airport is 20 kilometers from Zero Point and 23 kilometers from Sadr Rawalpindi. Up to 6.5 million passengers will travel to and from the airport and 100,000 metric tons of different goods will be transported yearly.
NA holds NIIA high National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet member Tariq Fazal Chaudhary said that so far the matter has not been brought in standing committee but it will be discussed. He said NIIA is very important project. CDA should take steps to acquire land which is located between Islamabad and airport. |
