Nawaz accuses PPP of dillydallying

LAHORE - PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif has shown his dissatisfaction over the progress of the PPP-led federal regime on his 10-point agenda.
“I am dissatisfied with the Centre since it is indulging in dillydally as meetings of the committee are postponed for weeks whereas we want it on daily basis for resolving the issues being faced by the masses,” he averred, while addressing the launching ceremony of book ‘Mera Quaid’ (My Leader) held here on Friday at a local hotel. The book has been written by PML-N Middle East President Ch Noor-ul-Hassan Tanvir. Columnists also spoke on the occasion, while Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal and a large number of PML-N parliamentarians and workers were also present.
PML-N Quaid Nawaz was of the considered opinion that the 10-point agenda was for Pakistan’s prosperity, and the government must complete its five-year tenure prior to seeking another term in general polls.
“I consider myself Prime Minister sans being so actually. The 45-day deadline is not a big issue. I am not satisfied over team’s performance. If the government is sincere for the actualisation of the agenda, it must arrest those who got loans written off on political grounds,” he demanded, while asserting the federal government should deem that it was the most important job to do at the moment.
“Secondly, it should appoint honest officers in the organisations, which have either been relegated to bankruptcy or on the verge of it,” he stressed.
While talking about the murder of former governor Punjab Salmaan Taseer, Nawaz told the gathering that certain elements in the power corridors wanted to indict him and his younger brother Shahbaz Sharif for the murder, and PPP workers had been directed to hold protest rallies across Punjab. “We are thankful to Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani since he was not part of the coterie, which intended to give political colour to the assassination,” he added.
