Red warrant issued for Moonis Elahi in NICL case

LAHORE: A Red warrant has been issued for Moonis Elahi, son of former Punjab chief minister Pervez Elahi, by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) corruption scandal, a private TV channel reported on Friday.

According to sources, a session judge issued the arrest warrant of Moonis Elahi.

Moonis has not appeared before the FIA despite repeated summons vis-à-vis the NICL scam. Moonis’s name was also enlisted on the Exit Control List (ECL) on the directives of the apex court on Tuesday, but he had already left for Dubai on January 20, the channel said.

FIA Additional Director General Zafar Ahmed Qureshi said that they had summoned Moonis several times but he had not responded.
