CDA fails to evacuate illegal Kacchi Abadeis
Islamabad: The Capital Development Authorities has failed to evacuate 14 illegal Kacchi Abadeis while the slum areas are posing security risk to Islamabad�s peace. More than 70 thousands peoples are residing in them, whereas eight out of 14 illegal Kacchi Abadeis are setup by the government and they hold legal status. The Capital Development Authority (CDA) had discussed the Kacchi Abbasid�s shifting project at different forums several times but failed to implement on it. Earlier, intelligence agencies and Islamabad police special branch had submitted their reports to high officials regarding the potential security risk due to these slums areas. While the increasing populations rate of the Kacchi Abadeis put question on the credibility of the concerned departments. The intelligence agencies also pointed out that, the security of sensitive installations, including PM Secretariat are in danger due to slum areas in their surroundings. According to sources, the CDA had setup a colony (Farish Town) for slum dwellers in Musharraf regime. Phase one of Farish Town was completed while the CDA stopped the construction work of Phase 11 as the allottees of Phase one sold out their plots and returned to Kacchi Abadeis. The District Administration Authority told media that the matter is pertinent to the CDA, they said that the CDA failed to implement over the ordinance issued in former president Musharraf rule regarding Kacchi Abadeis issue. According to reliable statistics eight Kacchi Abadeis, including, France Colony, Paris colony, 100 quarters, 66 quarters, Hansa Colony, Charles Colony, Siad Purr Model Village and I-9 Christine colony are setup by the CDA and have legal status. Whereas, illegal Kacchi Abadeis, including G-7, G-8, F-6, F-7, I-11, Banni Gala were setup due to the negligence of the concerned departments. |
