‘New budget will create employment opportunities’

KARACHI - Finance Minister Dr Hafeez Sheikh has said that the important targets in the next financial budget would be to create new opportunity of employment and achieve the economic development.
Addressing a pre-budget seminar in Karachi on Sunday‚ he said that equal taxation percentage would be enforced.
He said during the last two years eight hundred Billion rupees have been given to the provinces for the completion of the developmental projects. The Finance Minister said that GDP remained at three point seven per cent during the current financial year.
The Finance Minister has called upon the private sector to supplement government's efforts for the promotion of quality education. He said an additional eight hundred billion rupees have been transferred to provinces for the social sector development including education and health sectors.
He said the federal government has taken the responsibility for the funding of Higher Education Commission and spent one hundred and fifty billion rupees for the promotion of higher studies in the country.
