CDA prepares RBTS feasibility
ISLAMABAD: The CDA has evolved feasibility report for launching Rapid Bus Transport System (RBTS) on the pattern of metro bus service in the federal capital. The CDA sources said under the prime minister directives, the authority has devised the feasibility report at the cost of Rs 7.20 billion. The directives have also been issued to the CDA to complete the RBTS project within one year. Several meetings have been held between PM’s Principal Secretary Nasir Khosa and the CDA management in this respect. Arrangements for tent-pegging: The CDA has finalised all the arrangements for two-day tent-pegging (Naiza Bazi) event, which would be held in Fatima Jinnah Park on June 29 and 30. Speaking to media, CDA Director Sports Malik Attaullah Awan said that ground for the event has been prepared. He said that keeping in view of the moonsoon season, waterproof tent would be installed for the visitors that would protect from rain. Malik Attaullah Awan said that the event was arranged by the civic body annually to entertain the citizens of the federal capital. He said that competition would be participated by the horsemen and 50 teams from across the country while colourful stalls, cultural shows, and some other entertainment oriented festivities would also be part of the event. Awan said that there would be no entry fee for the visitor while Rs 10,000 would be charged from participating teams. He also said that the CDA would provide food and other facilities to the horseman and their horses. The sports director said that the CDA would take all-out measures to organise such splendid event with an aim to highlight the historical and cultural heritage. He said that the CDA chairman would be the chief guest on the occasion. |
