Preparations for the Start of ML-1 Set to Initiate By Year End

Lahore: Shahid Aziz, CEO of Pakistan Railways (PR), stated that preparation work on ML 1 is likely to be started by the end of 2023. The preparatory work includes floating tenders, bidding, and contract awards.

It was mentioned that civil work on the line would not start in the same year. However, once work on ML-1 starts, the Pakistan Railways will initiate work on ML-2. It will connect Attock to Kotri.

In the meeting, the CEO stressed clearing dues that are linked to PR’s Freight Business. He also stated that due to increasing concerns about security, every station in the country is equipped with CCTV surveillance cameras.
